ROGUEPIN
Privacy
RoguePin is a chart and a drift tool. An account is optional. This page says what stays on the phone, what an account stores, and who else sees a request.
Effective 12 October 2026. Fill in the legal name, mailing address, and mailbox before a store listing. The same pages are in the app under Layers, then Setup, until this site has a public address.

You can mark a kelp, run a drift, plan a deep drop, and set an anchor without signing in. That work stays on the phone:
Deleting the account does not wipe pins that never left the phone. Clear those in the app on that phone.
The app asks for the boat’s GPS position so the chart can show the vessel, drop a pin, and read a bearing and range. It can also keep that position while the app is not on screen, so the boat and a marked kelp stay current when the phone is in a pocket. Location is used for those jobs. It is not sold, and it is not used for advertising.
You can turn location off in the phone’s settings. The chart then cannot follow the boat.
The camera is used for a mark photo or a trip log. Pictures already on the phone can be added to a log. A PASS CARD is a picture you send with the phone’s own share sheet. RoguePin does not post that picture to a public feed. There is no public catch feed.
Sign-in is for mates, a pin that should show up on another boat, and a copy of a log that can come back on a new phone. If you create an account, the account stores:
Account data is stored with Supabase. A signed-in person can read their own rows. A live pin you send is visible to the mate you sent it to, with your name and the time it was pinned. They can take that copy off their chart. A fleet pin is the same kind of share. It goes out only when someone taps FLEET, and it goes to the other boats in that fleet.
A password reset email is sent to the address on the account.
Chart tiles come from Mapbox. Dock sync asks Open-Meteo for wind, current, swell, and tide for the offshore grid around the boat. Those services see the request that fetches the tiles or the forecast, including a rough area. They do not receive your account password. The forecast is then kept on the phone so the drift can run with no signal.
The store purchase is not connected yet. When it is, Google Play or the App Store takes the payment for Pro. RoguePin does not receive your card number. A subscription helper will tell the app whether Pro is active, including during the 7-day trial. Cancelling is done in the store, not inside RoguePin.
Pins, logs, and photos stay until you hide or clear them, or until you delete the account. Deleting the account removes the login and the rows and pictures stored for it. The steps are on the delete account page.
A copy of a pin already saved on someone else’s phone can remain on that phone until their app refreshes. The account copy of a pin you sent is removed with your account.
RoguePin is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly create an account for one.
If this page changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes with it. The copy on the site is the one to read. The app will carry the same pages later.
